What a wonderful day in the Lord we had this past Sunday. God really blessed in the service Sunday morning, and in the service Sunday night. It was a blessing to have New Bethel Baptist Church with us in the service on Sunday night. They provided the special singing for us during the service.
Well, Praise the Lord, we have many things we are working on for the church. After our by-laws are established, we will be holding election for the church officers for the remainder of the year. We really need to have this completed by the end of August or sooner. I encourage each and every one to be prayerful about the election. I would like to see all the basic classes have a teacher, then we can start filling the classes up. We will be saying more about this as we move closer to the time.
I believe that visitation is one of the keys to growing a church. The Bible said in 1 Cor. 3:6 “I (Paul) have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase”. The Bible also said in Matt. 16:18 that Jesus will build His church. We must be faithful in planting and watering, we must be faithful with our part; God will be faithful in His. I have gone out on visitation and have found many times the people I visited will not come, but God brings someone in to take their place. We are working very hard on a visitation program. I am really pushing to have this off the ground and running by mid August, but don’t let that stop you from getting out there and inviting people to come. I believe it is God’s will for His house to be full.
It is back to school in August. On August 10th, we will be having a special back to school service. This will be for all those that are going back to college or school and for those who work in the school system. We must pray for those that are going into the war zone we call school. They need our prayers and support. Help us prayer for this special service during August 10th, and invite as many school bound scholars and workers as you can to be a part of this special service.
We have many other things in the works for the remainder of the year. Please check the calendar out on the church website for more information. We would like to get as many ideas as possible on these different events.
I am looking forward to seeing what God is going to do here at Pleasant Valley. I am exited and encouraged just to see so many that are just as excited as I am about the church. Don’t let that fire go out. Don’t even let it flicker. The Bible said Pil. 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me”.
